Bill Gaytten set for creative director job at John Galliano
A new creative director is set to helm the fashion house at John Galliano. British-born Bill Gaytten is expected to be given the top job after working alongside Galliano for over 23 years. The news was revealed on Friday, as Gaytten took to the catwalk after presenting the label's spring-summer menswear collection.
Speaking at the show, Gaytten said: "It's the same job for me; I've been doing it for a long time. "[The menswear show] was a bit different because John wasn't there. I'm dying to know what he thinks!"
Gaytten succeeds Galliano, who was ejected from his eponymous label after a series of dramas which started back in February when he made racist and anti-Semitic remarks in public. He stood trial last week in Paris and now has to wait until 8th September to discover whether he will go to jail or face a fine, or both.
