Trend alert: Long sleeves at the Costume Institute Gala 2011
Whether completely covered up, cut out or figure hugging, long-sleeve dresses definitely made a statement at the 2011 Met Gala. Mary-Kate Olsen went with a silhouette that almost engulfed her small figure, but the color of her vintage gown was stunning. On a neutral note, Gwyneth Paltrow glittered in Stella McCartney. Though you can't see it here, the gown had a dramatic, cut out back as well. You can certainly see Ginnifer Goodwin's cut outs! Her kelly green dress showed off her sadly disappearing curves, and was definitely a graphic departure from the more romantic looks we were seeing. Sarah Jessica Parker struck her best Carrie pose in a slinky beaded Alexander McQueen, proving as she often does that sexy doesn't have to mean lots of skin.
