The TV star has inked a deal with the retailer, marking the first time that she has endorsed products with her own name attached to them.

The news comes at the same time that Portas was appointed by the government to review the future of the high street.

She now follows in the footsteps of other TV personalities such as Gok Wan and Trinny and Susannah who have launched collections with Shop Direct and N Brown's Simply Yours site.

"This is a very exciting opportunity for House of Fraser and for Mary," said Don McCartney, chairman of House of Fraser.
