sjp_halston_nyfw_fall210.jpgSince being revived in 2007, Halston hasn't been without its fair share of ups and downs.

Firstly, the creative team seemed to be unsettled with an early exit by Marco Zanini in 2008, Halston was handed over to British designer Marios Schwab. Then there was the controversial appointment of Sarah Jessica Parker as president and chief creative officer.

Now comes the news that Halston may be sold by its owners as it looks for a new injection of funds. WWD reports that the label's owners, Hilco Consumer Capital and Harvey Weinstein's The Weinstein Co., have hired an investment bank to explore its options.

"It's a very complicated structure and dynamic at the board level," a source told WWD. As for Parker's contemporary line, Halston Heritage, well it "was definitely a viable business," the source added. However, for the company to grow it requires further funding which the investors aren't prepared to put in after four years.
