Newsflash: John Galliano forced out of his own label!
WWD is reporting this morning that John Galliano has been sacked from his own namesake company! It's the latest drama to surround the designer, who was fired from his role as creative director at Christian Dior just last month following the racist scandal which he will soon stand trial over.
"According to sources, the 17-year-old firm's board recently met and decided to eject the maverick British designer," WWD reports.
It is believed that there have already been unsolicited expressions of interest in the John Galliano label which is 91 percent owned by Christian Dior SA. Although there are no immediate plans to sell the company, it is understood that the in-house design team, some of which also work for Dior, will be responsible for "producing collections... A pre-spring collection is already said to be in the works."
Galliano recently completed an "intensive" one-month treatment programme at a rehab facility in Arizona. He was heckled upon arriving in Los Angeles earlier this week, where he is now in extended "after care."
