Matthew Williamson Dree Hemingway Macy's.jpgMatthew Williamson has corrected comments in the press that he said Kate Middleton isn't a "fashion bunny."At the launch of his Macy's line, the British designer revealed he had been misquoted and that he had actually been referring to the amount of times he had been asked about Middleton on the same night.

"I'm setting the record straight: I'm a big fan and I'm sure she'll make an amazing choice [for her wedding dress]. I just feel for her at this time when everything's at a fever pitch - the pressure must be quite daunting. I think she's great for British fashion - she's clearly going to become an ambassador for British fashion."

As for whether he'd like to see Middleton wear his designs, Williamson added: "Absolutely."

He was joined by Dree Hemingway, who is also stars in his Impulse line's campaign, at a launch held in New York this week.

"I was asked to collaborate last year and I was flattered that such an iconic brand like Macy's would approach me. For me the process of design is the same for my main line collection as it is for the high street level. So it's exciting to apply the same rules but for a much bigger audience," he told Fashionista.
