Kate Middleton could wear a vintage Alexander McQueen dress to royal wedding
With just hours until the royal wedding officially gets underway, another rumour regarding Kate Middleton's wedding dress has sprung up. In what could be the final tribute to the late great Alexander McQueen, the Daily Mirror's Mark Jefferies took to Twitter to reveal that Kate's wedding gown could actually be an Alexander McQueen original design.
Following reports that Sarah Burton was the mysterious woman popping into Kate's hotel yesterday, Jefferies tweeted: "Sarah Burton seen in Goring hotel, but heard rumour from other journo design is by McQueen himself, so could be vintage or from his sketches!"
This was shortly echoed in a tweet by the Telegraph's Bryony Gordon, who wrote: "Top fashion source just msged to confirm that @mirrorjeffers tweet. Apparently the dress is a vintage McQueen design." She then followed with another tweet: "Apparently Sarah Burton is only doing the fitting, not actual design."
So, could Burton simply be fitting the gown that McQueen designed himself? I think I just got a cold shiver. Oooh the excitement is building! [via Fashionologie]
