We at Catwalk Queen, were lucky enough to bag front row invites to the prestigious Triumph Inspiration Awards, so yesterday afternoon, we headed to the event's top secret location with fashionable curiosity. Held in a dream to-die-for apartment and hosted by showgirl Immodesty Blaize, we saw 20 shortlisted British designers showcase their imaginative creations on the runway, in hope of going on to the sought after world wide final in Berlin.

Designs spanned from the pretty, with delicate lace detail and unbelievable intricacies, to the extravagant, with structured caged shaping and peacock feather embellishment. Judges Jameela Jamil, Charlotte Stockdale, Angela Buttolph, leading German design duo Felder Felder and Triumph UK's Product Manager Jane Fenlon-Smith, had the unenviable decision at their fingertips.

De Montfort University student, Emma Walters, 21, beat off the other 19 finalists with her winning design 'Liberation'. T4 presenter and judge Jameela Jamil said the decision was unanimous, "The design was show-stopping, beautiful, inventive and original". Consisting of a structured corset which opened up to reveal the silhouette of an angel, the design was bold with statement text imprinted inside.

Emma explained "'Liberation' was inspired by '125 years of celebrating women' and the concept of a traditional restricting corset representing the old image of a woman opens out from a heart locket shape, to form the silhouette of a woman with wings/angel that applauds the modern woman. Underneath a body piece is revealed that creates an architectural statement and pays tribute to women through the free-flowing design shapes and celebratory text. The piece honours how women have become liberated in the past 125 years."

A huge good luck to her for the final in Berlin, we're proud to have such a beautiful design representing British fashion. Stay tuned for results from the final!
