Lady Gaga Thierry Mugler AW11 Paris Fashion Week.jpg

From the moment Lady Gaga was confirmed to walk, we knew that Nicola Formichetti's début womenswear show for Thierry Mugler would be something spectacular. And it was. Making her first-ever appearance on the runway, Gaga brought her energy and flair for dramatic to Paris Fashion Week, as she joined Jessica Stam, Coco Rocha and Alek Wek to model in the show.

For her first ensemble, the world's biggest pop star donned a dominatrix-style black corset and skirt, giant platforms, and a black disc hat while smoking a cigarette. Her giant three-foot long blonde pony tails didn't seem to faze her as she strutted her stuff up and down the catwalk to her never-before-played track, Government Hooker.

For her final appearance, she draped herself in a white chiffon to portray the Mugler bride while her current song, Born This Way, blasted through the speakers. Gaga took her fellow bow with Formichetti and Sebastien Peigne, who showered her with kisses.

As for the collection itself, well it was a definite nod to the '80s, where Mugler began, with lots of PVC, barely-there fabric and stretch rubber. The palette consisted entirely of black and white with flashes of occasional blue. Shoulders were also massively accentuated in the Autumn/Winter '11 collection of the recently revived avant-garde label. Boy, I'm sure glad to see it return.
