Gok Wan to launch clothing line for Sainsburys
In a bid to help push its Tu clothing label, Sainsburys has recruited Gok Wan to design a clothing range. The TV fashion guru will create a womenswear collection, which is set to launch in autumn. It marks the first time that the supermarket has involved a celebrity to boost its fashion label. It hopes it will help rival George at Asda which has previously signed Miley Cyrus.
"Tu clothing has become a major growth area for Sainsbury's, based on the concept of delivering style and quality, at affordable prices," said Luke Jensen, Sainsbury's non-food director. "Over the next few years we will continue to dedicate more space to clothing, with new store openings and the development of existing sites."
