London Fashion Week: David Koma Autumn 2011 (video)
The second show of Day 4 at London Fashion Week belonged to David Koma and Holly Fulton, the former of whom showed first. Both were supported in the front row by Sarah Cameron, whose entrance caused quite a photographer's frenzy.
Inspired, surprisingly by dark forests, Tim Burton and hallucinations, Koma's collection was seemingly tamer than this may suggest. Beautifully tailored black pencil skirts with small circular cut outs rested over the complementary fabric of the skirt below. The black base colour of the collection was supported with rich background colours of red, gold and green. Outfits were cleverly adorned with indulgent fur trims either round cuffs or carefully placed in asymmetrical lines across the body whilst the use of black leather was also abundant throughout.
Some highlights included a clever circular cut-out cape and a circle skirt coat, again showing off impeccable sculptured tailoring, whilst the high wedged fur trimmed ankle boots by Alain Quilici enhanced the collection beautifully.
