New York Fashion Week: Carolina Herrera Fall 2011
Nobody does elegance quite like Carolina Herrera and her fall collection was no exception. This season she updated her signature gowns but playing with colour. A red skirt camed teamed with a red and white texture blouse; a textured gown came in a metallic silver at the top gradually turning into blue at the bottom. Even simple white knee length dresses were given a subtly injection of colour on skinny belts.
As you would expect, the evening dresses were strong. The less structured looks worked better than styles with an elevated structured neckline and Caroline Trentini stole the show in a beautiful gold sequin gown.
Despite being experimental with shapes and colours, the collection often still felt too conservative but considering the success of her S/S11 collection, I'm sure her legion of fans will still be happy with her offerings for fall.
