New York Fashion Week: Backstage at Adam Fall 2011
You would never know a fire destroyed all the knits planned for the ADAM Fall 2011 fashion show by looking at the pieces on the runway. The chunky knits were recreated by a local ladies knitting circle in time for the show, but it was tailored plaids and delicate, feminine details like dégradé feathers over gold sequins that stole the show. I got the chance to photograph a few of the pieces before the show, so take a look at them on the rack and on the runway after the jump!
Bright blue wool plaids were kept feminine with expert tailoring, while lighter pieces - in both texture and color - softened the collection.
Menswear inspiration and a plain beauty look somehow escaped looking too androgynous on ADAM's runway.
