Milan Fashion Week A/W11: Gianfranco Ferrè
It's been a difficult twelve months for Gianfranco Ferrè. Earlier on this year things turned for the worst when the brand announced that they would not show their menswear collection this season but after Dubai-based Paris Group acquired the brand this year, it looks like everything's back on track.
For fall design duo Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi showed a confident collection, focusing mainly on outerwear and the playing with fabrics. Coats came in oversized structured double breasted styles in nude and the show opened with a cashmere style that button up down one side and had two heavy lapels across the other.
The colour palette largely consisted of whites, black and grey which was a strong departure from the razzle dazzle and bright pinks that we saw for Spring. Black cigarette pants came styled with a nude sleeveless top with shiny panels down the front which instantly added something extra. For night, dresses had the same shiny quality appearing on gold bands on a knee length dress and also one a silver and gold lame gown worn by Abbey Lee Kershaw
