London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2011: Mulberry
Despite Mulberry being known for their classic accessories - Emma Hill recently won the award for best accessories at the Elle Style Awards - over the last season or two the brand has quickly grown a reputation for producing simple but fail safe pieces that everyone wants to be seen in.
Where last season was all about colour, creative director Emma Hill focused on a largely muted colour palette. Black knit sleeveless cardigans were layered over black maxi dresses with brown floral prints a grey fur jacket was given shape by a skinny belt placed on the waist teamed styled over a brown maxi dress. Duffle coats styled over the floaty dresses helped add an urban edge to the otherwise ultra feminine pieces.
But Hill did make sure to add some colour for good measure. One look featured a fuchsia coloured shift dress under a dark purple double breasted blazer teamed with knee high socks and another featured a bright green back with a detachable strap worn with wedges and a pleated dress in the same hue.
