London Fashion Week: Richard Nicoll Autumn 2011

"This season is about comfort, ease and freedom. I didn't want anything to have waist emphasis so [I] looked at the 20's to reference the drop-waisted silhouettes in a sporty way," Richard Nicoll told the W Editor's Blog about his Fall 2011 Collection. "Also there is a cocoon and moth motif that reflects the comfort and freedom of the mood."
While he's not the first designer this season to take '20s inspiration, Nicoll definitely did it his own way, with Poiret-like silhouettes that belie the cocoon inspiration.
