London Fashion Week A/W 2011:Clements Ribeiro
Catwalk Queen was invited backstage as the final preparations and meticulous planning were being concluded for Clements Ribeiro's runway show, this year being help at The Show Space, Northumberland House. This venue, new to London Fashion Week, was the perfect setting, both elegant and glamorous with a nod to historic grandeur.
Next, from the comfort of the frow, we sat pleasantly enjoying Clements Ribeiro's Autumn Winter 2011 offering. From fine cuts, to even finer prints, this was definitely a collection for true ladies.
A sophisticated and conservative feel beamed from the runway with the long series of silk printed dresses and twin sets. A palette of browns, reds and mauve was accented with splashes of electric blue. Sophisticated prints faded from lace into nothing whilst embellishment was ornate and moorish.
Textures span from lacquered lace to brocades and embroideries. Whilst dress shapes were modern with a loose backless style, skirts were shaped more traditionally with this season's boyfriend waist belt. Midi lengths were all around and we couldn't stop lusting after the bejewelled stand alone collars.
Overall a lustful dark romantic take on conservative style with a Victorian influence and fashion's most sophisticated conservative at it's best. Good work Clements Ribeiro.
