London Fashion Week A/W 2011: Ones to Watch
As huge fans of emerging talent, we always look forward to the Ones to Watch show during London Fashion Week. Amongst the big names on the LFW schedule, this show always brings innovative design concepts to the table. And Autumn Winter 2011 was no exception.
At the Vauxhall Fashion Scout venue somewhere around lunchtime today (all concept of time are out of the window already), we filed in the show space to discover what the future of British Fashion had in store.
With four designers on show, Kirsty Ward, Anja Mlakar, Tze Goh and Sara Bro-Jorgensen, variety was definitely the order of the day. Kirsty Ward brought a futuristic feel to the room with sheer iridescent fabrics in cut out armour type shapes whilst Anja Mlakar opted for a light pastel colour palette with interesting use of both structure and movement.
Now to my favourite, Tze Goh whose desirable minimalist shapes were the clear result of some very clever conceptual design. Sara Bro-Jorgensen's offering had a younger appeal with a playful approach to a punk rebel theme but equally as interesting.
All in all, we'd say the future of British Fashion is in fairly safe hands.
