London Fashion Week A/W 2011: Falguni & Shane Peacock show
As one of my favourite designers, I was looking forward to seeing Falguni & Shane Peacock's Autumn/Winter 2011 show.
Their signature embellishment and animal inspired prints were key to the collection. Maxi dresses featured beautiful ruffles and layers of sheer fabrics that floated behind the models as they walked the runway. These romantic and sumptuous pieces were scattered between a tougher look featuring body con dresses and skin tight jumpsuits.
Texture ranged from bursts of ruffled fabrics and feathers to serious studs and embroidered leather.
My favourite piece from the collection was an embellished bright blue body-come-maxi dress teamed with black opaque tights and giant platform heels - Wonder Woman must have been an inspiration on some level.
All in all the collection didn't break any boundaries and rumbles among the crowd as they departed were of the opinion that they hadn't seen anything new from the young designers, but I say why fix what 'aint broke? Every piece was stunning and exquisitely well made and if I can even have one piece in my wardrobe I'll be more than happy!
