London Fashion Week: Jena Theo Autumn 2011
There are two possible explanations as to why I enjoyed Jena Theo's Autumn Winter 11 show so much this morning. Either because it was simply amazing, or because it was right down my street. Either way, the two London College of Fashion graduates brought wearability to a grunged rock chick aesthetic.
The collection was made of sumptuous textures, opulent draping and ethereal shapes, which the pair reworked giving an artistic design led feel. While the colour palette remained neutral, with smoky greys and khaki taking centre stage, emphasis stayed on textures, shapes and intricate designs. Models were branded with Masque of Zorro type makeup teamed with messy grunged up hair which added to the raw feel.
Some stand out pieces included a structured patchwork coat, maxi length draped cardigan and floor length knitted snood. There's one thing for sure, I'll most definitely be keeping my eye out for more Jena Theo.
