Blake Lively confirmed to front Chanel handbag campaign
Whispers that Blake Lively had bagged herself a Chanel campaign have been floating around for a few weeks. Now it has been confirmed by the fashion house that the actress will front a campaign for Chanel's new Mademoiselle handbag line.
Photographed by Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel's historic Rue Cambon headquarters, the designer dscribes why Lively was the perfect candidate for the job. "She's a kind of American dream girl," said Lagerfeld. "I think she will become a great actress. "It was an easy job because everyone fell in love with her," Lagerfeld said.
Anna Wintour introduced the pair during Paris Couture Week in July, where Lagerfeld gave Lively a preview of his collection. "I took a photo of him so that I would never forget that moment," she said. "Never did I think six months later he would be photographing me."
As for the whole experience itself, she added: "How did Cinderella feel when she slipped on the glass slipper? How did Snow White feel when she met her Prince Charming? A dream come true is an understatement. I can say that I feel like the happiest, luckiest girl around."
The new Mademoiselle handbag line consists of five different sized oblong styles, featuring Chanel's signature chain handle, quilting and are available in a range of colours.
The official ads will break in April.
