Veruschka on modelling for Giles: "I didn't think much of the dress"
One of the highlights of London Fashion Week was seeing Sixties modelling sensation, Veruschka hit the runway for the Giles S/S '11 show. However, according to the now 71-year-old the experience wasn't all that. In fact, she believes she has become a gimmick and that today's designers no longer possess the skills to dress for real women with bodies that don't resemble ironing boards.
"I didn't like the make-up in the [Giles] show, and didn't think much of the dress. Now we are using the old ones, make them look great and show their power as well as their age," she tells Daily Mail. Referring to the recent trend for sky-high heels, she adds: "in the Sixties, fashion was about liberation. It was about setting women free; it wasn't about being unable to walk."
