Prince William and Kate Middleton engaged! Who will design the bridal gown?
Announcing their engagement yesterday was Prince William and Kate Middleton. After eight years of on-and-off romance, the couple have finally decided to take that next step to get married in Spring/Summer next year.
Flashing her engagement ring to the paps, it was revealed that Wills proposed to Kate on a recent holiday to Kenya. The ring (an 18 carat sapphire surrounded by diamonds) also holds great meaning for the pair, as it is the same ring that Prince Charles used to propose to Diana. "It's very special to me. As Kate's very special to me now, it was right to put the two together," he said.
Now, it's bets on as to who will get the huge task of designing Kate's wedding gown...
There is no denying Kate is one heck of a stylish gal, who is often spotted mixing designer with High Street pieces. Some of her favourite brands include Issa, Katherine Hooker, Longchamp and Jigsaw, where she used to work in the accessories department.
At the moment, speculation is leaning towards Issa creator, Daniella Helayel, especially since most of her recent outfits have been custom-made for Kate by Helayal.
"Kate has been having couture dresses made for her recently and Issa is her favourite label," a friend recently said. "The dress she wore to Harry Meade's wedding is one of her favourites. It was made for her especially and there is only one in the world, which is why Kate loves it so much."
