The Pirelli Calendar to get its own film!
And before you ask, no Terry Richardson won't be directing! The annual Pirelli Calendar, which has turned into a bit of a saucy coup for some of the world's most famous models, is about to get its own film. The Saga of the Pirelli calendar, is a documentary created by Emmanuel Le Ber, which chronicles the making of the calendar from 1964 to 2010. The film will be screened on 13th November on the French channel, Paris Premiere.
Every year the calendar is turned over to a famed photographer, such as Peter Lindbergh, Mario Testino and Bruce Weber, to shoot some of our most iconic beauties. These have previously included Gisele Bundchen, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, and actresses Sophia Loren and Penelope Cruz.
The next photographer on the list is Karl Lagerfeld, who will unveil his 2011 Pirelli Calender in Moscow on 30th November. "The Pirelli Calendar is a myth, a tribute to the woman, sometimes anticipates the mores of society with its aesthetic codes and archetypes, and marks the future," he said.
