Georgio Armani helps Vogue celebrate Fashion's Night Out, London
After it was New York's turn, it was all about London for last night's Fashion's Night Out. One of my old mates (ahem) Giorgio Armani was a special guest at Vogue's cocktail party held at the Emporio Armani store on Bond Street. Not even a rain downpour could dampen the spirits of celeb guests including Thandie Newton, Claudia Schiffer, and Gemma Arterton. The night before, Armani had accepted the award for Designer of the Year at the GQ Men of the Year Awards.
Elsewhere in London was buzzing, with Gwyneth Paltrow making an appearance at Stella McCartney's Bruton Street store to support the designer's children's charity, Kids' Company. While at the Burberry flagship, Christopher Bailey was holding court.
"Shopping is not relaxing," he admitted. "I tend to get everything in one go - or shop online." This would explain Burberry's plan to make its Spring/Summer 2011 collection available to buy online as soon as the catwalk show is finished at London Fashion Week. Talk about hot off the runway!
