Amanda Wakeley's Spring/Summer 2011 collection was directional and truly added meaning to the phrase 'ready-to-wear' (a rare combination these days).

Surprisingly, the show was not bursting at the rafters. Whether this was because it was the last day of London Fashion Week and the majority had headed back to sanity early, or more likely, the fash pack had already re-located to Burberry Prorsum in anticipation of it's commencement at 4pm, either way it was their loss.

The runway played host to a beautiful array of dresses that were, almost literally, to die for. The show started with mocha browns which gently moved to coral pink, cobalt blue and then back to earthy tones. The more simple dresses were styled with armour like jewellery; think oversized gold plate necklaces and forearm length cuffs.

The dresses to follow started to get more interesting with drape and gathering detail that looked like it came straight off the red carpet. And put together with tough style brown leather detailing, the whole thing had a Princess Warrior style vibe happening, and we were loving it! Unimaginably luxe embellishment followed, adding to the warrior theme.

Hair was a textured matt frizz, pulled back into earthy style plaited knots whilst make-up was barely there. If you're thinking of splurging on a gown for Spring/Summer 2011, we'd definitely say Amanda Wakeley is worth a taking a look!
