Any fashion follower worth their Birkin would recognize the key women who sum up the 60s era. Just in case though, we've put together this gallery of who we think made the decade one of history's most stylish! Click on the image at the end of the post to start the gallery.
Twiggy was the poster girl for the 1960's - famous for her androgynous looks, cropped hair and huge eyes,Twiggy was declared by The Express as "The Face of '66."
Brigitte Bardot was to the 60s what the Marilyn Monroe was to the 50s. The beautiful French actress is remembered for her copious blonde hair, doe eyes and plump lips.
It Girl Edie Sedgewick was the most famous of Andy Warhol's Superstars and was known for her edgy mod glamour and... her black tights.
The 60s was also host to the most stylish first lady in American history (at least until Michelle Obama) Jackie Onassias. Jackie O popularized the pillbox hat, and of course, the round dark glasses so favoured by Nicole Richie.
Fashion designer Mary Quant was the genius who created the mini skirt. And where would we be without that? Thank you, Mary.
You may not know Anita Pallenberg on first glance, but you'll know her from cult-classic sci-fi film Barbarella, as well as being a huge influence on the Rolling Stones, from her relationship with Brian Jones, then Keith Richards (who she left Brian for) and, rumour has it, Mick Jagger too.
