Graduate Fashion Week 2010: University of East London
This year's Graduate Fashion Week kicked off yesterday in London's Earls Court, showcasing creations from tomorrow's fashion designers. Already we have spotted some real innovative and unique designs from universities right across the country... and its only day two!
East London University offered a diverse array of designs from 19 of its students. Highlights included those of Bunmi Olay, whose 'Matriarchy' collection incorporated tribal prints embellished with beads, bells and pom poms. Aimed at celebrating female empowerment, her striking creations and warrior-styled models definitely enforced this theme.
Johanna Greenish's designs were another firm favourite with her 'unfold' collection displaying the creative effect of folded fabric. Contrasting black-and-white designs included this beautiful free flowing flow length dress (pictured above).
Another highlight of the show belonged to Stephanie Hemphill, whose use of soft pink fabric and smoky grey body-con design, had many in the audience sitting up in their seats.
