Fergie and Shakira kick off World Cup 2010 in monster style
With the world's eyes fixed on Johannesburg right now, it was a cracking start to the 2010 World Cup. At the opening ceremony, Fergie burst onto the stage in a monster of an outfit created by Indian design duo Shane and Falguni Peacock. Her look comprised of a gladiator-style body suit, embellished in gold and silver, and featuring a bejeweled chest plate and exaggerated shoulders.
When asked how they scored such a lucrative job, Falguni said that following their London Fashion Week presentation, they held a press show in L.A. which led to a designer put in charge of styling Fergie for the World Cup concert, requesting one of their garments.
Performing her hit tracks including 'The Hips Don't Lie', Shakira shimmied in a grass skirt and cut-away one-piece. Capturing the limelight, the Columbian singer also performed the World Cup theme song, 'Waka Waka' (This Time for Life).
