John Galliano brought with him a touch of Parisian chic for Christian Dior's Cruise 2011 collection held in Shanghai on the weekend. Shown in conjunction with the David Lynch short film, Lady Blue Shanghai, the French-inpired collection, full of couture pieces, was a deliberate move to strengthen the label's roots in China.

"I didn't want to come here and present a Chinese-inspired collection to my Chinese friends," said Galliano. "I'm the ambassador of the house of Dior, and I wanted to come here with a French-inspired collection and to show the savoir faire of France." And so he did, with a presentation of show-stopping organza, tulle and embrodiered silk gowns and a revisit to the famous Bar jacket. Click on to see part 1 and 2 runway videos of the show...
