The starlets have descended upon Cannes for the 63rd annual film festival. As we blogged yesterday, Cate Blanchett made a stunning appearance on the red carpet for the world premiere of her latest flick, Robin Hood. For the photo-call earlier in the day, the Aussie actress went for the Giorgio Armani Prive pink suit as was predicted. But for the night event, Cate took it up a notch with a black and silver Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2010 gown, which featured an eagle motif and tulle underlay.
Big gowns have been popular for the first few days of Cannes. Kate Beckinsale also chose a show-stopper, click on to see what she wore...
For her stint on the red carpet, Kate didn't do things by halves. She owned her moment at the premiere of Robin Hood by wearing a design by fellow brits, Marchesa. Almost standing up Blanchett, Kate donned a lavender sparkly draped gown, featuring a voluminous tulle layered skirt. She finished off her look by sporting an Hepburn-style bouffant and stunning drop earrings. Thumbs up from us, Kate!
