Princess Diana's dress to go under the hammer
A dress worn by Princess Diana on her first official royal outing in 1981 will soon go under the hammer. Designed by David and Elizabeth Emanuel, the black plunging taffeta gown will go up for auction in London, and could fetch up to a staggering £50,000. At the time the dress caused a sensation and earned the then 19-year-old princess the nickname "Daring Di".
Other items to go up for sale, include invoices, designs and paperwork relating to Diana's famous wedding gown, which was also designed by the Emanuels. Keen bidders - the auction will take place at La Galleria on London's Pall Mall on June 8, 2010.
