Naomi Campbell wanted over altercation with limo driver
We are used to seeing models walk, but in this instance it's a case of a supermodel on the run.
Naomi Campbell is reportedly being sought by police after being accused of assaulting a limo driver in New York. They want to question her over the incident in which she allegedly became enraged in the back seat of the black Cadillac resulting in her hitting the 27-year-old chauffeur. When the driver stopped the car in Manhattan to phone the police, Naomi is said to have jumped out of the car and fled on foot.
"There shouldn't be a rush to judgment,' her spokesman Jeff Raymond said. "Naomi will cooperate voluntarily, and there is more to the story than meets the eye."
Known for her temper, the supermodel has racked up a string of court appearances over allegations of assault in previous years. In 2008, she pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 200 hours of community service over her spat at Heathrow Airport. She also fulfilled another week of community service in 2007 after pleading guilty to misdemeanor assault for throwing her mobile phone at her maid.
Officers were still deciding last night whether to charge Naomi with assault. The altercation has left the driver with a bruised cheek.
