Chanel quash rumours over Lagerfeld being replaced by Elbaz (again!)
Chanel has been forced to issue another statement denying that Karl Lagerfeld will soon be replaced by Alber Elbaz at the helm. During Paris Fashion Week, Jak & Jil blogger Tommy Ton heard that the Lanvin designer could be taking over from Lagerfeld, but this was promptly rectified by the label in a statement.
"Karl Lagerfeld is the creative designer of Chanel and has a long-term contract with the company. Replacing him is not an issue," it read.
Ton has since responded to the news by tweeting: "Guessing game is over. My source and I are the victim of a good prank played by Mr. [Riccardo] Tisci himself. He got us good :("
