Celia Birtwell to design for John Lewis
Celia Birtwell is expanding her collaboration CV by teaming up with John Lewis. She is going from Topshop to John Lewis, designing a 25-piece collection with a '60s and '70s prints.
"I was looking for the right vehicle for a collaboration and then Jo Hooper [head of womenswear buying at John Lewis] approached me," said Birtwell.
"A collaboration means you really work with them and they have their ideals and their customer. I have to address their customer - which isn't the same as Topshop."
Prices range from £65 to £150, with the collection featuring Birtwell's signature colourful girlie prints in chiffon dresses, tops and skirts. There is also embroidered knitwear and trousers.
It is available online as well as John Lewis department stores.
