MET Presents Anglomania: The Costume Institute Benefit Gala
After what has been a tortuous few weeks for the family and friends of Lee "Alexander" McQueen, the designer will return to his ancestral home on the Isle of Skye for his final resting place.

According to the wishes of the late designer, his ashes will scattered on the Scottish island which is where his father Ronald was born. Lee's father and five siblings will travel to Skye over the coming weeks to say their last goodbyes.

Lee's Scottish heritage was often seen in his collections, and he insisted on wearing a kilt and full Highland dress when he received a CBE from the Queen in 2003. As for why he decided to take his own life, Lee's brother Michael has spoken out, admitting: "I really don't know why he would do such a thing. It goes to show that money doesn't buy you everything. He was probably very lonely in his own way. That may be it."

In other McQueen news, it has been revealed that the designer was working on a men's underwear collection before he died. The line is set to continue and will be launched in June worldwide.
