New York Fashion Week A/W 2010: Michael Angel
Michael Angel's shows are always a pleasant surprise. I feel like he is a quiet star of fashion week because you don't hear a whole lot about the line, but I always really enjoy his collection. If my personal video above isn't quite enough to convince you, I'd also check out the video of the live stream on Michael Angel's Web site here.
According to the show notes the designer was influenced by art like stained glass windows and Degas paintings and those inspirations are certainly evident in the digital prints (not my favorite part) and laser-cut bonded jersey (my favorite part, especially when appliqued on silk wool). The contrasting textures of wool alpaca and angora with silk crep and stretch silk charmeuse was very luxurious looking.
