Marc Jacobs to be knighted by the French
Fashion names are really stepping up to the royal plate lately. Just recently Stephen Jones and Luella Bartley were named in the Queen's 2010 New Years Honour List, and now Marc Jacobs will be knighted by the French.
The designer, along with Nathalie Rykiel, will be decorated as Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) in a ceremony to be led by Culture Minister Frédéric Mitterrand today. The event is to coincide with men's fashion week in Paris.
Nathalie is president and creative director of Sonia Rykiel, the label which was began by her mother. As we all know, Marc is the creative director of French luxury label, Louis Vuitton.
