Another batch of super-talented designers have been revealed in the shortlist for the inaugural British Fashion Council / Vogue Fashion Fund. Amongst the shortlisted names are Christopher Kane, Richard Nicoll, Erderm, Marios Schwab, and shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood.

Others include bespoke tailor E.Tautz and accessories label Angel Jackson. One lucky winner will receive £200,000 worth of mentoring and business support. The finalists will be announced in April.

"There is no small money available for design talent," explained BFC chairman Harold Tillman. "Banks don't consider it an option - they don't want to waste their time on small amounts, so it has to come from the private sector. We are the private sector."
