It was another frock-fest at the New York première of Nine this week. The starlets hit the red carpet in their finest, with all eyes on Nicole Kidman and not her pretty Prada dress but rather her unfortunate make-up mishap - yikes! Meanwhile, Penelope Cruz was a Grecian goddess in Chanel red satin and Marion Cotillard played it safe in a white strapless Dior gown.

Kate Hudson was joined by her mum Goldie Hawn (don't you just love these two?) with Kate opting to show a little leg in a black-and-white sequin Chanel frock. Other big names to attend included Madonna and daughter Lourdes, Fergie, the Olsen twins and Naomi Watts who wore a gorgeous fuchsia avant-garde number by Marchesa - love!

Meanwhile, Dolce & Gabbana have spoken more on their roles in Nine. The pair play priests, in the film-within-a-film.

"We dressed up as priests, and we started to act. No, we don't act, it's acting, but you know....[In the scene] Daniel Day-Lewis walks from one studio to the other one. He walks in front of us, and I talk with Domenico and I drink the coffee," said Stefano Gabbana. Click here to read more from his interview.
