Psst... Has Alexa Chung's MTV show been cancelled?

Is it all over red rover for Alexa Chung's MTV show? Rumours are rife on the internet that the British style maven's daily show, It's On with Alexa Chung, has been cancelled and will not be renewed for another season. Mind you, at the same time I'm hearing from sources that the show will continue until March and then be evaluated. Although the show continues to attract a bevy of superstars (hello Jonas Brothers, pictured above) could things be on shaky ground for our Alexa's plans to conquer America? Let's hope not.

Psst... Has Alexa Chung's MTV show been cancelled? - Comments

  • That would be a shame if it does. I really liked watching her show and I'm a huge fan of her and her style!

  • IF MTV decides to cancel it, they're the ones who killed it.

It's On With Alexa Chung really doesn't know what to do with its host!

She's intelligent, funny, silly, snarky - and in this 'second season soundbyte' version of her show, they've condensed her interviews down to a few minutes - to the point where she doesn't have time to do what she's good at.

    Which is: chat.

It's like the focus study groups came in and said, hey your audience is dumb. They can only pay attention for seconds at a time - so let's shorten the segments and throw more at them.

They're not giving their host a chance to be Alexa. Her longer segments are great to watch. A one minute interview with a celebrity: doesn't do anything.

This is a good show - the fix? Expand it back to an hour and let Alexa relax and do a real talk show.

    She's SOOOO RUSHED.

And don't assume her audience is dumb. I've been an educator for years and this group is a lot smarter than what the marketing gurus at MTV give them credit for.

MTV should know better. And they shouldn't waste this talent they've imported.
