Vivienne Westwood presents Anglomania S/S 2010 at Selfridges
The setting (a car park) may have been a bit unusual but for Dame Vivienne Westwood it was ideal. The British icon chose the Selfridges car park to present her Anglomania spring/summer 2010 collection to buyers, press and a few celebs Monday night. Starring Daisy Lowe (above, left) on the catwalk, with a face full of sparkly rhinestones (true!) Westwood unveiled a colourful collection dotted with her usual quirk and political undertones.
"Westwood performs incredibly well for us," said Anita Barr, head of Selfridges womenswear buying department. "Across all stores, across all departments - from men's to women's to accessories - all the collections sell consistently well every season. She's pretty amazing."
The show was followed by a live performance from 13-year-old Dionne Bromfield, who was requested especially by Barr and is signed to Amy Winehouse's label. Some of the familiar faces in the crowd included Nicola Roberts, Florence Welch, Little Boots, Sadie Frost and Westwood's partner Andreas Kronthaler.
