More London Fashion Week news is trickling in as designers decide whether or not they will join in the event's 25th anniversary next September.
The latest is that Jasmine Di Milo (A/W 2009, pictured far left) will return to show her Spring 2010 after several seasons in Paris. Designer Jasmine Al Fayed has also recently collaborated with charity V-Day. She has designed a special T-shirt (£40) to support the global abolition of violence against women and young girls.
With Giles Deacon a potential no-show, Aquascutum (A/W 2009, pictured near left) is also reportedly forfeiting a show at LFW. The British label announced yesterday that it will not be joining the anniversary celebrations *sob*.
It seems the reason behind the decision is due to a failed buyout attempt, following former CEO Kim Wisner's sudden departure last year.
"While Renown [parent company] awaits a sale of Aquascutum, they are consolidating their investment in the business during this period and will therefore not show at London Fashion Week in September," said the company.
Yes Aquascutum's absence leaves a gaping hole in the LFW schedule, but it isn't all bad news. With so many designers coming back to our city next September, there is much to look forward to.
