Jackson family honours Michael in Versace
It was a sombre day in Los Angeles yesterday, as the world and family of Michael Jackson farewelled the King of Pop in a moving memorial service. At LA's Staples Center, musical performances and written tributes were given by a host of high-profile stars including Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson, Usher, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, and many more.
In a fitting tribute to honour her brother, Janet Jackson personally contacted Donatella Versace prior to the event to request that the Italian label dress the family, as one of Michael's favourite designers was the late Gianni Versace. Apparently Gianni's first celebrity hook-up was for Jackson's 1983 music video for Say Say Say with Sir Paul McCartney.
Dressed in matching suits, Jackson's brothers each wore a single silver glove in remembrance of one Michael's most iconic looks.
