Designer News: Sadie Frost undergoes hand surgery; Betsey Johnson backpedals on retirement comments

With her label FrostFrench back on track after nearly avoiding closure last year, Sadie Frost has been hit with another setback.

The designer/actress was rushed to hospital this week to undergo hand surgery. She injured her hand last year after falling from a bike and had pins, plates and stitches inserted. When the injury flared up again, Sadie checked herself into hospital and is now recovering after two operations.

"It's in a cast but I can wiggle my fingers. I think it is going to be so much better," she told the Sun.

Also, after telling NY Mag that she plans to retire after her next September show, Betsey Johnson now appears to be backpedaling on those comments.

Quoting Bette Davis, she said: "I will never retire while I've still got my legs and my make-up box". Hmm... confusing!
