I am thouroughly unhappy with Style Shake and would never recommend it to anyone! I knew of this website for sometime, but was looking to read someone's feedback before using it. After the glowing review left on your website, which I have been visiting for some time and tend to trust, I order a dress. I was incredibly disappointed with what I received in the post. Quality of fabric was very poor and the dress did not fit me at all. They do not take anywhere near enough measurement to make a properly fitting dress. There was no way I could have sent this dress back for their refitting service as it could not have been fixed simply by taking in at breast or waste area. In order to fit me well this dress would have to be completely restructured. It is a waste of £50! When I wrote to them the only suggestion Style Shake had was to send the dress back filling in their refitting form, but as I said above, that simply would not work. I am one hugely unhappy and annoyed customer and I am frankly very surprised that you thought that the quality of the fabric was good.

I used Style Shake for my cousin's wedding and loved the dress! I still get comments from people now.

I ordered 2 dresses,, and they are totally fab.

Arelia - I'm no longer writing for CQ but thought I should pop in to reply to your comment since I was the one who wrote the review you mentioned.

All I can say is I'm sorry you had a bad experience, especially after reading my review, and I really hope this is a one-off problem, perhaps based on the particular style of dress or an error in measurements entered on the site.

I stand by my review. The dress I ordered fitted me perfectly and I thought it was very well made and finished. I can obviously only speak for my experience in terms of fabric; I thought the green silk was really nice though obviously it's prone to creasing. I wonder if perhaps they fabrics vary a little, either between cotton, silk and linen or by colour.

Hi Gemma, I saw your review and ordered dresses for my 4 bridesmaids (including a 9 year old). I ordered swatches in advance, so I knew exactly what to expect. The dresses came about a week ago with the other things I wanted and I myself and the bridesmaids are completely over the moon! perfect fit and the quality is excellent I am recommending the site to my friends for their dresses too

I do like what you are about your ab fab

Well this is interesting. I have posted a detailed reply to Gemma but it seems to have been taken off or not added in the first place. Why would that be?

Let's try again, but a lot shorter. Dress I bought is cotton. Fabric is exceptionally cheap. Dress model was very simple, unfortunately what I received would have to be re-cut in shoulders and arm openings. Aftercare customer service was very bad. Recommended all my friends and work colleagues to never use this website. I hope this message does appear, otherwise I'd like to receive comments from Catwalk Queen as to why you are refusing to put this up.

Hi Arelia, as far as I can see both your comments have been published, and Gemma provided some kind of response to the first one. Sorry you had a bad experience with Style Shake, maybe you could enter our competition to see if they can change your mind?!

I have just ordered myself a dress to try this site out and then hopefully I will order 6 dresses for my bridemaids.

I have only heard good reports and I went to visit them in their studio. They were very helpful.

Kelly: If you have photos of your bridesmaids I would LOVE to see them.

Thanks!

The email to enter the competition seems to bounce back..?

I've double checked the email address and everything should be working fine, good luck!

Oh my goodness why didn't I read this first? I've just spent 80 pounds on the silk dress for my mum - the silk is hard and crisp, and not at all silky, how could you possibly reccomend it? I was expecting a simple silk dress, instead I've got this wooden feeling taffeta lined creation that certainly does not drape int he way I would expect silk to. I'm gutted, I@ve contacted them and not had a reply, but I've got a creepy feeling that they are not going to exchange this for a nice flowing version. If you are planning on shopping at styleshake, I advice you order fabric swatsches first. I'm gutted.

I recently ordered a silk dress from Style Shake and was really disappointed. The quality doesn't even compete with a similar priced dress on the high street. I can't possibly be seen out in this thing. The fabric is stiff and the lining is cheap. I've contacted customer services and it's a case of that's to bad deal with it! If you don't mind gambling with your money then by all means buy from Style Shake!

I ordered 2 dresses from Styleshake.com in August 09, 4 months later I have no dresses and no refund! Been given the run around and I am out of pocket to the tune of £136.
Don't trust them!!

I ordered 5 dresses and only 4 arrived, not impressed with style shake!

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY
Total rip-off!

I ordered a dress in November for Xmas - my measured bust size was 33.6 inches, and I ordered it in 33.9 (the closest one). When it turned up, I could barely get the zip done up, and once I had, it was so tight my boobs were being squished in a most unflattering way.

I remeasured myself (to check I hadn't suddenly gained a couple of inches!) but no, it was still correct.

Emailed customer services, because the alterations form doesn't have the ability to request increases, but they said to send it back anyway and they would let it out.

3 weeks later I've got it back, and I'm pretty sure no alteration has been made - it still feels as tight as before, and is definitely not wearable. To check it's not just me with weird-shaped boobs or something, I even tried it on a friend's sewing mannequin, and with the bust set at 33 inches, it's impossible to do the zip up (so it's at least an inch smaller than I ordered - even after the 'alteration').

The rest of the measurements are on the generous side (not tightly fitted) so I really don't understand what's gone wrong.

I give up now - the moment for wearing is has passed, and even if they fix it, it's going to annoy me.

Going to try to flog it on eBay. I won't be using Style Shake again.
