Trend Gallery: Sport-Luxe

Sporty clothes were last trendy in the '90s when it was all toggles, ripstop, fleece and Prada's techy moulded shoes... Eeek!

Sounds unappealing but this time round it's all about combining sporty with luxe or unexpected fabrics for a completely new look. Alexander Wang and Chloe are your go-to designers for this look but try American Apparel for cheaper sporty pieces. The trick with this trend is to avoid anything that references exercise, so no sweatbands, water bottles or hoodies (unless they're gold or something)! Imagine instead heiress at a gym class; add a classic men's watch, quality leather bag/jacket or chunky heels and you're there.

I owned a pair from Payless when I was in fourth grade. After a few days I realized they pinched. Plus, they weren't the most attractive shoe in the store. These, however, are adorable. Can't you just picture Cher from "Clueless" wearing them?
