Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick welcome twin girls

sarahjessicaparker_matthewbroderick_twins.jpgAfter weeks of paparazzi-fuelled interest, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick have welcomed twin girls into the world, a few weeks earlier than expected.

The proud parents announced the arrival of Marion Loretta Elwell Broderick and Tabitha Hodge Broderick delivered via a surrogate mother on Monday. Marion weighed in at 5lbs 11oz, while Tabitha weighed 6lbs. The couple already have a son James Wilkie, 6.

"Both Hodge and Elwell are family names on Parker's side. The babies are doing beautifully and the entire family is over the moon," their publicist said.

Heavy media attention into the life of the surrogate mother, Michelle Ross, prompted SJP to voice concerns over her privacy and welfare. Parker also revealed that Ross had even received threats and had her computer hacked.

Authorities are also investigating claims that two Ohio police chiefs broke into Moss's home, so they could sell photos to the tabloids.

Scary stuff!

Yay finally some normal celebrity baby names. But that poor surrogate mother. She'd have to wonder is it really worth it?
