FTM's Undercover: The Evolution of Underwear Exhibition on now
London's Fashion and Textiles Museum invited Elle Macpherson along to host the opening of their Undercover: The Evolution of Underwear exhibition. Macpherson has been designing lingerie for 20 years as part of her Intimates range so it was only fitting that the museum asked her to create a range of lingerie especially for the exhibition.
Curator Alison McCann explained what the exhibition covers: 'Developments in underwear have moved with the social and economic times and this exhibition charts how female underwear has evolved over the last century - encompassing the onset of war to the changing role of women in society - from a functional item to a thing of beauty.'
Visitors can expect to see everything from corsets belonging to Lana Turner and Immodesty Blaise, Swarovski-crytal encrusted bras and the trusty Wonderbra. Jump through to see more images.
The FTM exhibition runs from Friday 12th June until Sunday 27th September 2009. Exhibition opening times are 11.00am-6.00pm Wednesday to Sunday. Visit FTMLondon for more info.
