The countdown to March 2010 is on as it will be the release of Tim Burton's version of Alice in Wonderland. It looks like an absolute feast for the eyes! For fashion lovers, the costumes and makeup look exquisite. The mixture of real film and CG animation gives the whole setting the classic, magical Burton feel. It looks a little bit eerie, a little bit warped, but totally stunning. There's a signature cast you will recognise and love, so read on for more!
Tim Burton's fiancé,
Helena Bonham Carter, of course has a starring role as the 'Red Queen', or the traditional Queen of Hearts. Expect a lot of screaming from her blown-up head! I love the fiery red hair and eye lashes. How tempting it is to draw a lipstick heart on yourself!

And again
Johnny Depp stars as the Mad Hatter. Really who else could play that role! The carrot hair and yellow eyes make him look quite literally insane! I like how his clothes are all patch-worked and weathered too.

I was quite disappointed by this character though, as
Anne Hathaway plays the White Queen. Her sister the Red Queen overthrew her and she seeks her throne back. I find Anne really drippy and these roles seem suited to actors and actresses that have something quirky about them and are dedicated to obscure roles. I wish this character wasn't needed!

Alice in the end is played by 19 year old Australian actress
Mia Wasikowska. It's typical to have a newcomer play the youngest lead role and I'm sure this film will launch her career, the golden ringlets look great! I wish they'd made her really young looking though, almost Lolita inspired. She is meant to be revisiting Wonderland as a 17 year old running away from an unwanted marriage proposal. Hopefully the story shake-up will pay off!
